Dave was not only our DJ, but assisted Mike and I to shape our wedding day into what we had envisioned. We met with Dave very early in our planning. At that point, we had thought very little about the logistics of our wedding day, being overwhelmed with other check list items, one of those being to pick songs for our wedding. We were both excited to begin choosing what we would play during dances, grand march and throughout the rest of the night. We met with Dave at a local restaurant in St. Paul. We expected him to take down playlists, songs and wedding party names but we did not expect the level of attentiveness and assistance he would provide us to outline our entire day. He continuously asked us if this was the direction we were thinking, which in the large scheme of things is not a common question you get from working with vendors for your wedding; having someone focus on the greater vision outside of what they were providing. Dave focused on the larger picture, the atmosphere for the night, the specifics down to pronunciations and awareness of the crowd. For some, a DJ will play music at a wedding, but for us, Dave not only played the songs, but orchestrated the event and executed our vision.

Picking a DJ is kind of like online dating. You get to read a little about them and then hope they aren't crazy. We got lucky, David did an incredible job with the music for entire wedding day. He helped with selection of music for our ceremony and we only gave him a few hints for the dance and he took care of the rest from there. The DJ planning forms made it so easy to choose the music that we had to have at our reception, and allowed us to choose the music that we did not want. to hear. They give suggestions for songs to use which was extremely helpful as well. Throughout, he was incredibly responsive, understanding, patient, and flexible. he put up with many e-mails and changes to the schedule of our reception with grace. At the reception, he did a wonderful job. Although we chose the music, it was really David who did an amazing job choosing songs to play to get the party started. We love to dance. David & Shawn made that possible. People we have never seen dance were having a blast on the dance floor. A huge thank you to the great DJs for an unforgettable wedding reception!!

Wow! What a great night it turned out to be. After suffering through a torrential rain & wind storm, these guys pulled off a great event for my husbands 60th birthday. Dave & Shawn were such troopers battling the wind and rain for over an hour. Their clothes and equipment were soaking wet as they scrambled to deliver what they do best. Despite having to move inside to a garage that wasn't set up for a party they were still able to get the party crowd going. They acted professional, courteous and were very accommodating. The mix of music and games were great fun for all ages. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck, these guys are definitely it. Our DJ (Dave), was a friend of two wonderful people from our church. He has been hired to do several events for church, at a reasonable cost. However, he is fantastic! He plays a wonderful variety of music, has albums after albums of music, and if you have a request for a song he doesn't currently have, he punches it up and downloads it! His personality is energetic and fun, and he really keeps the floor hopping. Communication is the key, so if a DJ or band wants to "go with the flow", either try to negotiate with him/her, or find someone else. You don't want your special day marred by an unprofessional vendor.

We had literally last minute changes to the venue of the ceremony due to the weather and he was able to get everything moved. Throughout the whole day and night, David was flexible with our large families and bridal party, but was able to keep us on track. Our older relatives and friends were pleased with the dinner music selections and the early dancing with lighter beats of music choices. And our younger friends were very happy with the later in the night music. The beat increased, as well as the dance lights. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Lights, Lights and MORE Lights! Besides the great bass thump in their system ( 2 -1,000 watt subs & 2 -800 watt subs, need I say more?), the lights kept the dance party FUN! Last time we hired a DJ, he came with a set of blue, green, yellow & red "can" type lights. Dave came with 12 - 15 different types of lights, and LASERS to boot!!! no extra charge for a professional laser unit...unheard of. This dance floor needs to be seen and experienced. Add a small touch of "fog" to haze the air, and the lights "take off" even more. We were worried about the smoke alarms, but Dave never hazed the air enough to set them off, just SET US OFF! Will book again in the future.

The DJ's kept the dance floor full ALL night. The guests complimented on how much fun they were having, and I found it hard to leave the dance floor. I have to say that the fact that they do not ask for tips was awesome!!! I find it SO tacky when vendors show up with a "tip jar" or pitcher with the words "DJ tips" written all over it.....Yuk! But we didn't have to worry about that, as we were able to tip our DJ privately after the party. I would recommend this DJ to any bride on a budget who is looking for fun, but not looking to break their "budget."

I just wanted to let you know that you did a killer great job of being the DJ for our wedding.

 

By the time I even thought to check on you, you was already set up and ready to go. There were two songs that we wanted for the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, I wasn't sure if he had these and I provided via a CD and it all worked out perfectly. During our first dance, we had suggested that he could end the song (lengthy song) at around the 4 min mark, and he did perfectly as such. He was great on the microphone, wasn't over the top, wasn't underwhelming, he had JUST the spot on demeanor and attitude for our wedding.

 

When we first started working with Only Toons DJ, a friend that Jenna knew had told her "I have the perfect guy for you" and she was totally right, Dave was great. It turned out Dave had DJ'd her reception as well, and her review was 5 stars!

Dave did a phenomenal job accommodating the Bride's requests, along with guest requests. He helped organize and round up the bridal party for Grand March. Dave did a great job being interactive, and not over bearing.Also, the up-lighting behind the head table, we had looked great.

We had Dave  DJ our wedding and he was amazing. He did everything we asked - ranging from playing specific songs with specific cut offs during the ceremony, to us telling him to do whatever he thought would work best during dinner and during dancing at the reception (the songs he played outside of our requests were all great). 

 

The day of, he took care of everything he needed directly with the venue - the only time we had to talk to him is when we had questions or requests for him, which is much appreciated. 

 

Overall, he is an extremely nice, likable guy, and we would recommend him for any event.
